There is no such thing as a typical day for me, which is what I love about being a developer and what makes the work so interesting.

What made you choose Epassi?

Being an Epassi user for some time, I was always curious about what goes on behind the scenes. While the technology stack perfectly matched my areas of interest, the decisive factor for choosing Epassi turned out to be the smoothness of the interview process and the feeling of "hey, I can already see myself working with these guys"  

What does a typical day look like for you? 

There is no such thing as a typical day for me, which is what I love about being a developer and what makes the work so interesting. My core tasks involve analyzing requirements, thinking of a solution and translating it into code, but there are always different challenges popping up throughout the day, injecting variety and keeping my brain constantly engaged.  

What is the best thing about working at Epassi? 

Apart from what's mentioned above, the people you happen to work with, the people you have breakfast and lunch together or the people you do sports together… are the kind of people you would want to hang out with outside the work. So, if it hadn't been for the ice cream at the office, I would have said Epassians are the best thing. Sorry folks, ice cream takes the cake.  

How do you take care of your own wellbeing? 

I try to spend time outdoors as much as possible. My favorite activities are running, cycling or swimming. Continue doing these proved to be quite challenging since I moved to Finland with its long winters. However, I am happy to say that I have overcome the mental barrier of enjoying these activities in snowy conditions and freezing temperatures. Other than that, I can often relax with reading a book or watching some movie.  

What will you be spending your Epassi benefits on? 

I usually go with combination of swimming hall and gym memberships, which helps me maintain my fitness routine throughout the cold months. I spend the rest mostly on concerts, primarily electronic music, taking advantage of the really vibrant scene here in Finland.
